We want everyone to be able to shop at TheHookahLab.com, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, screen zoom or other assistive technology.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We check the site with automated tools and by hand, including keyboard-only navigation and screen reader testing, and we fix problems as we find them. This is ongoing work, and some parts of the site may not meet every guideline yet.

What we have done

  • Search suggestions are announced to screen readers as they appear, with the number of results.
  • When you add a product to the cart, a screen reader announces what was added and how many items are in your cart. The cart panel has a clear name.
  • Each product in a list has one link, so you do not have to move through the same link twice.
  • Keyboard focus is clearly visible on links, buttons and form fields.
  • The homepage slideshow has a Pause button.
  • Images have text descriptions, and pages use headings in a logical order.

Accessibility menu

Every page has an accessibility menu button at the bottom of the screen. It lets you change text size and spacing, contrast and colors, highlight links and headings, and more. It works alongside your own assistive technology and does not replace it.

Content from other services

Some parts of the site come from other providers, such as product reviews, live chat, payment options and the Shopify checkout. We cannot fully control how these parts work. If one of them gets in your way, contact us and we will help.
